Dot Nine Solutions have recently completed a re-build of the Kitbag site, timed to coincide with the start of the 2010 World Cup. Best of breed technology was employed in conjunction with a bespoke core ecommerce engine to produce the most advanced Kitbag site to date.
The Manchester United Online Megastore was re-developed by Dot Nine Solutions in October 2009. Significant improvements were made to the search and navigation function as well as an improvement in overall user experience. Integration between the ecommerce site and Manchester United's "One United" membership club was also implemented, facilitating member discounts and promotions.
The Chelsea Megastore was the first site where Dot Nine implemented predictive search functionality, helping to guide visitors more quickly to what they are looking for. This site build also required integration with a loyalty card scheme, enabling customer points to be redeemed and accrued during the purchase process.
Being involved with Everton Football Club was an extremely interesting and rewarding experience as this involved not only building the new online store but also integrating their "bricks and mortar" retail operation into the Kitbag business. This was then further developed to include "click and collect" functionality on the online store.
It was a great honour to be responsible for the development of the Official Formula 1 Online Store, particularly as Dot Nine are commited petrol heads. This was the first of a new generation of online stores that Dot Nine have built and saw the introduction of Omniture Merchandising and Adobe Scene 7.
Building the official Real Madrid Online Store bought with it a new challenge in the form of multi-lingual requirements as the store had to operate in both English and Spanish. The boundaries of the search and merchandise tools employed on the site were also stretched as they had not previously been used in this environment.
